a weeks worth of daily odes on Fridays

So for the month of December I'll post my daily art that I do each day all together in a post on Fridays. 2010 I plan on keeping up with this but a little differently.
Anyway, the song I am 'inspired by' today is 'Feliz Navidad'. It only has a few lyrics and then repeats so everyone probably knows at least a few words in Spanish because of it.
I remember hearing the song for the first time when I was little, watching a Sesame Street special. The song starts at about 1:40 in the video. I remember going to the skating rink after watching this and looking for Big Bird. He wasn't there though. We must've missed each other.

Off to find coffee to start the day! :)

Last Christmas...this Christmas

Last Christmas. A classic. When you think about it the lyrics are a tad depressing. But the melody is catchy and the main singer George Michael's 80's feathered hairdo in the video is a must see.

short post for a daily ode

Daily Ode #30
Listening to Christmas music throughout the day on the first day of December. It's earlier than usual but felt right. Not the local radio station where they play the same 3 songs over and over and over but online. There seems to be more of a mixture.

Each day will be dedicated to a certain Christmas song. There is nothing like the Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer song or the show. I watch it every year.

Doodles, drawings, daily odes and a comic delay

What you ask? Where is the bowling story that I mentioned on my twitter page? Well, it will be added soon I promise. :) And let's just say I can take professional bowler off my list of future career options. It was fun though. For myself and for others at the bowling alley. Looking at my bowling score that was projected on a screen above the lane, probably made them feel better about themselves.

until I upload the comic feel free to sing a song,

write a letter with actual paper, or a story or do your homework,

stand on 1 leg,

make small talk or have a bite to eat,

I will be back with a post very soon.

These images came directly from my sketchbook to the blog. I didn't have time to take the shadows out of the images, from the camera and scanner.
Enjoy the rest of your Monday! Oh and since today is cyber monday for this week (now until Dec. 5th) if you read this message you can get 15% off your entire order at my shop if you write the code 'daily ode' in the 'note to seller' section when you checkout. Pay for your items and I will refund 15% of it within 24 hours via paypal.
Comic soon, tonight possibly if I can get to a scanner or tomorrow. til then, ciao!

Happy Turkey/Tofurkey Day

Many new items to show including a few days worth of daily odes which I've been keeping up with in real life and to be added here as a long image filled post or 2 or 3 or... anyway, Happy Thanksgiving! If you are in the U.S. and Happy Thursday or Friday (it may be that day already for you or everyday is Friday for you. :)) Some random images but a few that I've been working on for my illustration website.

I plan on drawing a list of what I'm grateful for but I'm without words right at the moment. Maybe after some coffee. This song sung by Doris Day is a good start for today. Wishing you all the best.

"Got no check books, got no banks.  Still I'd like to express my thanks - I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night."  ~Irving Berlin

Monday...almost tuesday.

These photos were taken in low light and with an 'old school' camera phone. And yes, I do realize that I spelled World Peace as 'piece' in the picture below.
I'm like an inaccurate spell check.
