It's all about screenprinting

I decided today was the day to photograph and add some screenprinted items I've done recently to my etsy shop and very soon to my main online shop (hopefully it'll be ready by the end of this month or so!)

Not everything was added as the light today was pretty quick.

Mister Darcy and Miss Bennet screenprints from my drawings and from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice were added. I like them so much I most likely will add a screenprint on paper version of this design as well.

Also Julia Child couldn't be forgotten. I did an earlier painted full color version of her and decided a screenprinted towel would be perfect as well.
I did a new drawing of her based on the painting which I used to make the screenprinted image. I may put it on t-shirts but I'm not sure yet. ...definitely totes.

and before the sun totally disappeared this tote was photographed.

I would love to find the hat Mary wore in that opening scene.

More work coming soon. All my daily odes recently as you can see have been screenprints.

Some other good things for today:
the sound of your feet walking on fresh snow
dreaming up stories to paint
the smell of coffee being brewed is sometimes even better than the coffee itself
photographing in natural light
scraping off my car of snow and ice (not fun) in my insulated yellow boots (the fun part).
watching the new episode of LOST while I clean up (and find) my desk surface amongst the piles of randomosity.

New Month!

...new header, new look for February (2010 is the year of the tiger, starting on Feb. 14th)
On a funny note, I always find myself sounding this month out like I did in 3rd grade, making sure I remember to write an 'r' after the 'b'.
May possibly be the only one who does this?

Today's Daily Ode wore a bright red hat

In case you were wondering...

Forget your already forgotten resolutions and the guilt about aforementioned list of 'musts'. Toss that paper away.
Instead, start each day fresh & remember (because it is true):

Today my heart swings

A lyric from a song I'v had in my head. Have you had that happen to you? fortunately this is a good tune.
Doodles and basic drawings were made in different sketchbooks. A literal take and lots of fun to create.
The heart seems pretty content although it may need a little push to swing higher.

I like the way it turned out and decided to put it in the ol' etsy shop right here.

Be Optimistic...

...Don't you be a grumpy
When the road gets bumpy
Just smile
(smile and be happy)

Some lyrics from this song I found by chance.

**Do not listen to the song if you have a case of the 'Mondays'. It may be too much 'sunshine and buttercups' so first have a cup of coffee or some tea (try the green tea) and then come back.**

How cool was Shirley. Besides having a delightful drink named after her that was a favorite of mine at age 7, she sings songs like this, my new theme song for 2010.

Daily art to be shown again soon!

Today I have my camera's memory card reader back

Hello 2010.
